What will you be doing?

 

The Test Operator will be responsible for ensuring the quality and performance of customer products through rigorous and structured testing procedures. Reporting to the Production & RMA Manager, this individual will work within a production environment to verify the functionality of electronic and RF components using both automated and manual testing methods.

Working with sophisticated test equipment such as spectrum analysers, signal generators, and power meters, the Test Operator will play a crucial role in delivering products that meet strict technical specifications. The successful candidate will also contribute to process improvements, help resolve day-to-day production issues, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Performing testing of production units in line with established procedures and schedules.
  • Operating and maintaining automated and manual RF test equipment.
  • Reviewing performance results, identifying non-conformances, and escalating issues where necessary.
  • Maintaining accurate records and inventory control using internal systems and databases.
  • Ensuring the correct use of internal test assets and adhering to company processes.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S and Root Cause Problem Solving.
  • Collaborating with engineering, production, and support teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Conducting equipment checks, reporting malfunctions, and performing daily maintenance tasks.
  • Assisting the Production & RMA Manager with operational challenges on the test line.

 

 

About You:

 

The ideal candidate will possess a hands-on, methodical approach to testing and troubleshooting within a technical production environment. A basic understanding of electrical or electronic engineering principles is desired, along with the ability to follow structured procedures while also demonstrating initiative in problem-solving.

The position would suit someone who is detail-oriented, disciplined, and eager to learn and develop within a technology-focused business. Prior experience with RF testing is beneficial but not essential, as training will be provided.

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have:

 

  • A willingness to learn technical testing methods and apply them with consistency and care.
  • Methodical & and accurate approach to completing tasks, particularly when following defined procedures.
  • Confidence in interpreting test data and identifying conditions outside of specification.
  • Familiarity with test equipment such as spectrum analysers, power meters, and signal generators.
  • Proficiency in using business systems to log data and manage inventory.
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal, to support issue resolution.
  • An understanding of process control and quality assurance principles.
  • A proactive and safety-conscious mindset with a continuous improvement attitude.
