About The Role
The Supply Chain Project Manager will coordinate and drive delivery of a major strategic supply chain and manufacturing transition programme, ensuring all activities are completed to agreed quality, cost and schedule objectives.
Acting as the central point of coordination across Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Commercial and Finance teams, managing plans, actions, dependencies, risks and communications throughout the programme lifecycle.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, the role will ensure manufacturing readiness, supply chain preparedness, operational capability deployment and successful programme execution. The position requires a practical understanding of electronics manufacturing, component supply chains, quality systems and production processes, together with strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
The role is expected to provide structure, visibility and momentum to a complex, cross-functional programme involving multiple workstreams and geographically dispersed teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the programme plan, ensuring activities are delivered to agreed milestones, budgets and timelines.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities across Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering and Commercial teams.
- Manage programme risks, issues, dependencies and actions, ensuring timely resolution and escalation where required.
- Act as the primary point of coordination between DTC and external partners involved in programme delivery.
- Coordinate activities required to achieve manufacturing, supply chain and operational readiness.
- Facilitate project meetings and provide clear, concise status reporting to programme sponsors and senior management.
- Ensure effective communication and alignment between all stakeholders throughout the programme lifecycle.
- Capture lessons learned and support continuous improvement of transition and onboarding processes.
The Successful Candidate Will Ideally Have
Essential
- Experience managing complex cross-functional projects within a manufacturing, supply chain or operations environment.
- Strong understanding of electronics manufacturing processes and supply chain operations.
- Experience coordinating activities across multiple departments and external partners.
- Ability to develop and maintain project plans, manage risks and track programme progress.
- Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and drive activities to completion in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Proactive and self-motivated, driving actions through to completion.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, solutions-focused approach.
- Effective communicator, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Collaborative team player who builds strong working relationships.
- Demonstrates ownership, accountability and a commitment to delivering results.
- Eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC).
- Preparedness to work outside of core working hours and travel to suppliers around the UK and abroad.
Desirable
- Experience of manufacturing transfers, supplier onboarding or contract manufacturer management.
- Knowledge of electronic components and associated supply chains.
- Understanding of quality management systems and production readiness activities.
- Experience working within regulated, defence or high-reliability industries.
- Project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, APM, PMP) or equivalent experience.
