What will you be doing?

Reporting to the Production Lead (Broadcast), the Manufacturing Technician will support the assembly and production of products, ensuring they are built to a high standard of quality and delivered on time to meet customer requirements.

Working as part of a small and collaborative team, this role will involve following clear work instructions to assemble products, populate PCBs, and build cables as part of the manufacturing process. The role will also support low-volume production runs and contribute to new product introductions, working closely with Engineering to help refine and standardise assembly processes.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the early stages of their career who is looking to apply their technical education in a hands-on environment, with training and support provided to build practical skills and confidence over time.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assembling products using provided work instructions, ensuring quality standards are met at each stage of the process.
  • Populating PCBs and supporting electronic assembly activities in line with production requirements.
  • Building and preparing cables to specification as part of the overall manufacturing process.
  • Supporting low-volume production and standard manufacturing activities in line with production schedules.
  • Assisting with first-off builds for new products, working alongside Engineering to help refine and standardise assembly processes.
  • Carrying out basic inspections to ensure products meet required quality standards.
  • Raising any issues, defects, or deviations from standard processes to the appropriate team members.

About You:

The ideal candidate will be someone early in their career with a strong interest in electronics or manufacturing, and a willingness to learn in a hands-on production environment. This role is well suited to individuals who have recently completed, or are close to completing, a course or qualification in electronics, manufacturing, or a related field.

The successful candidate will bring a positive attitude, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset, along with the confidence to ask questions and continuously develop their skills. Reliability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic will be key to success in this role.

To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have:

  • Recently completed, or are currently completing, a qualification in electronics, manufacturing, or a related technical field.
  • A strong interest in hands-on work such as electronic assembly, PCB population, or cable building.
  • A positive, “can do” attitude and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Good attention to detail and a focus on producing high-quality work.
  • The ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to ask questions and seek support when needed.
  • Any previous hands-on experience (academic or practical) in assembly or electronics is beneficial.
