What will you be doing?
The role of the Director Programme Management reports to the Chief Operating Officer and will have oversight of the Programme Management function and aligned strategic initiatives across the global DTC business. This will encompass ensuring that all programme elements are aligned to internal and external stakeholder expectations and mentoring and developing the internal teams to ensure that they have the skills and attributes to meet the strategic growth of the greater business. Additionally, this role will be integral in the development of the global DTC Programme Management function.
As a key member of the team, you will:
- Initiate and set goals for projects/programmes according to the strategic objectives of the organisation
- Ensure that projects/programmes are planned from start to completion
- Coordinate ROI calculations using information from all relevant business verticals
- Develop or approve project budgets and operating procedures
- Devise metrics to monitor performance and determine the need for improvements
- Oversee all programme managers involved to provide feedback and resolve complex problems
- Identify and implement methods to improve productivity and efficiency
- Apply change, risk, opportunity and resource management principles when needed
- Ensure programme operations and activities adhere to legal guidelines and internal policies / quality standards
- Develop, maintain and implement common dashboard report formats to communicate programme progress, status, risks and financials
What makes a successful Director - Programme Management within DTC?
To be successful in your application for this newly created and engaging position, you will have a proven track record of programme management and execution within a complex manufacturing or engineering environment and a deep understanding of identifying, reporting and mitigating programme risk factors. Additionally, you will possess high level communication skills to facilitate positive outcomes for all internal and external stakeholders.
Ideally you will be degree qualified within a related technical field and have exposure to a broadcast, radio communications, electronic design, or firmware development environment. A working knowledge of UK defence programmes would be highly advantageous, but is not considered essential.
This role will be required to undergo UK Security Clearance and undertake occasional international travel.
