What will you be doing?

Reporting to the Global Operations Director, the Demand Planner will play a critical role in driving data-led decision making across the supply chain at DTC, a global technology leader in secure wireless communications and surveillance systems. Based in the Hampshire office, this role is responsible for developing accurate demand forecasts, aligning inventory with production capacity, and supporting resilient, customer-focused operations.

This is a highly collaborative, cross-functional role that works closely with Sales, Business Verticals, and Operations to ensure demand plans reflect real market conditions, customer insights, and strategic objectives. The Demand Planner will support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes, contribute to new product introductions, and help manage product end-of-life transitions, ensuring continuity of supply and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing and maintaining accurate strategic demand forecasts using historical data, sales pipelines, market trends, and customer insights.
  • Collaborating with Sales and Business Vertical teams to review, validate, and continuously improve forecast accuracy.
  • Monitoring forecast performance, conducting root cause analysis on variances, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Aligning demand plans with production schedules and inventory strategies to optimise service levels and working capital.
  • Supporting S&OP processes and meetings, providing clear insights into risks and opportunities.
  • Identifying and communicating potential risks and opportunities within demand plans to key stakeholders.

About You:

The ideal candidate will be an analytical, detail-oriented planner with a strong understanding of sales processes and customer requirements within a manufacturing environment. Comfortable working with complex data sets, this individual will be able to translate information into clear, actionable insights that support operational and commercial decision-making.

This role suits someone who is proactive, customer-centric, and collaborative, with the confidence to work cross-functionally and challenge assumptions when needed. A strong interest in technology and continuous improvement will be key to success in this role.

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret large, complex datasets and convert them into clear, actionable demand insights.
  • Proven experience building, refining, and challenging forecast models using statistical methods, trend analysis, and scenario planning. Strong data analysis skills with advanced numeracy and high attention to detail.
  • A solid working knowledge of ERP and CRM systems (experience with Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, and Salesforce is advantageous).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • An interest in radio technology (advantageous but not essential).
