  • Full-time / M-F / 40hrs per week
  • Hybrid with the expectation to be onsite 3+ days per week for team collaboration
  • This position has been evaluated with an annual base salary range of $80,000-90,000 CAD. The target hiring range is $80,000-85,000 CAD, ensuring room for continued growth in remuneration through annual performance and compensation reviews.

Role: 

Software Engineers at Zetron support the design and development of software and firmware in both Land Mobile Radio (LMR) and Command and Control (C&C) products, making significant contributions to the design, implementation and testing of software to link devices over the network. 


Core responsibilities:

  • Software and UI design, development, and automated testing for complex tasks, bugs, and enhancements
  • Participate in requirements analysis and systems architecture with other members of the Software Engineering Team
  • Provide accurate planning information at all stages of the software development life cycle to result in delivery of software systems on time, on budget and according to specifications
  • Provide maintenance and support for completed products
  • Document activities as required

 

Become part of our Team:

  • You have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or equivalent
  • Bring minimum 3 years of software engineering experience
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on challenging tasks
  • Proficiency in at least one of the core programming languages
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to convey information clearly and accurately
  • Adept at problem solving and lateral thinking
  • Ability to manage priorities and tasks to meet project deadlines
  • Willingness to learn, apply, and share technical and work-related knowledge to others
  • Knowledge of:
    • Core programming languages: C/C++, C#, Java
    • Scripting languages: Python, JavaScript, Bash
    • Embedded Systems: GNU/Linux, RTOS, bare-metal, kernel, device drivers
    • Web development: JavaScript, CSS, HTML5
    • Version control (GIT)
    • Networking and communications principles: TCP/IP networking, serial communication protocols, USB, radio communication and public standards (TIA, RTP, CAI/P25)
    • Understanding of concurrent and real-time programming techniques
    • Object-Oriented and Domain-Driven design
    • Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
    • Solid understanding of software engineering core concepts and tools
