What will you be doing?
Reporting to the IT Director, the System Administrator will provide effective, efficient and reliable technical guidance and inputs into the design of architecture and data. Additionally, they will engage and contribute with the greater Group Systems team to ensure a high level of service and performance is achieved.
As a member of our Global IT Operations team, you will be provided with training and development to develop your skills to be able to:
- Participating in special projects to continuously improve processes, tools, systems and organisation.
- Configure, test, install, troubleshoot and maintain new and existing hardware and software to assure optimal security and availability.
- Deployment of new IT solutions both locally and in remote (overseas) locations
- Remote / onsite desktop and server support
- Stay abreast of new technological developments and trends, recommend desirable acquisitions, upgrades and replacements
- Provide 1st to 3rd line IT support to employees at the local sites, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues.
- Maintain accurate records of issues and resolutions through the IT ticketing system, ensuring consistent documentation and service tracking.
What makes a successful System Administrator?
To be successful in your application for as System Administrator, you will ideally be Tertiary qualified within an aligned field and have demonstrated experience within a in house Systems Administrator environment. In addition, you will have a high-level understanding of emerging technologies as well as best in-class processes and practices within the information technology field coupled with high level communication skills to facilitate positive outcomes for all internal and external stakeholders.
Previous experience within the following areas is considered mandatory:
- Demonstrable skills and experience in the installation, configuration and remote support of Windows Servers
- Experience in virtualised and cloud environments & managing VMware, Nutanix, AWS, Azure
- Working knowledge of LAN/WAN protocols & services i.e.: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
- Working knowledge of Microsoft application set e.g. AD, SCCM, O365, GPOs, etc
Within the DTC business we recognise and respect the need for flexible working arrangements, however due to the high touch team engagement nature of this role, it will be predominantly based at our Ashburn facility with occasional working from home arrangements to be agreed when required.
