About the role
Reporting to the Operational Department Manager, this newly created and dynamic role is responsible for the efficient and timely coordination of procurement and purchasing activities across the greater North American Kagwerks & DTC businesses. The role ensures the availability of materials to support projects, new product development, and series production.
Key responsibilities include managing the purchasing processes, cost analysis, and price administration within business systems, while also generating relevant reports to support decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive professional to contribute to a growing and fast-paced environment.
Core elements will include but not be limited to:
- Manage and control a portfolio of suppliers to ensure that materials and/or supplies are delivered at the right price, right quantity, right quality, and right time.
- Purchase components in accordance with forecast sales and manufacturing plans.
- Effectively manage product obsolescence to maintain an optimal inventory holding.
- Ensure that Codan’s global purchasing power is leveraged with negotiating supplier pricing.
- Perform full cycle purchasing processes including sourcing, negotiating quotes, placing orders and monitoring deliveries.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) team with sourcing, planning and purchasing materials from design stage until product launch.
- Regularly monitor vendor pricing, availability, and terms.
- Ensuring supplier Quality compliance in line with group policies and expectation.
About You
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in technical procurement, supplier development and management, preferably within a manufacturing, electrical, or electronic assembly environment. You will thrive in a fast-paced, evolving landscape, demonstrating adaptability and the ability to work effectively in dynamic conditions.
Proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP and/or Microsoft Dynamics is highly desirable.
As a proactive self-starter, you will excel at working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.
This role requires travel across North America and the ability to obtain security clearance.
