About the role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining SMT machines to produce high-quality electronic assemblies. You’ll play a key role in ensuring production efficiency, minimising defects, and supporting continuous improvement in a fast-paced, high-tech environment

Key responsibilities will include:

• Comply with all relevant legislation, company policies, and industry standards
• Coordinate daily tasks with the Production Manager and SMT Process Engineer
• Set up and operate SMT equipment per work instructions and specifications
• Inspect SMT PCBs meet IPC-A-610 quality standards
• Complete required production documentation
• Monitor and report SMT consumable stock levels
• Promote and maintain SMT best practices in the workplace
• Assist in maintaining product quality to meet customer expectations
• Support continuous improvement and self-inspection initiatives
• Track and report rework levels to Production Manager
• Escalate quality issues that require production line stoppage
• Operate all functions of a rework station

About You

Ideally, you bring experience from an SMT or electronics manufacturing environment, with a strong sense of ownership, a commitment to quality, and a collaborative mindset suited to a high-performance team.
