About the Role

 

The Project Manager is responsible for leading cross-functional product development teams to deliver assigned projects within agreed quality, cost and schedule constraints. Operating within Codan’s New Product Introduction (NPI) framework, the role ensures projects are effectively initiated, planned, executed and controlled to achieve defined business and engineering outcomes.

Working closely with Engineering Managers, Domain Leads and key stakeholders across Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Marketing, the Project Manager provides leadership, structure and visibility across the full product development lifecycle.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead planning, estimation and resourcing activities to establish clear project scope, work breakdown structures and delivery schedules.
  • Prepare business case documentation and financial data to support project approval processes.
  • Manage projects in accordance with the New Product Introduction (NPI) process and agreed governance requirements.
  • Monitor and control project cost, schedule and scope commitments, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Lead monthly project review meetings and provide clear dashboards, reports and meeting documentation.
  • Identify, assess and manage project risks, applying a structured risk-based approach to product development.
  • Provide leadership and direction to cross-functional project team members to achieve critical milestones.
  • Manage suppliers, subcontractors and contract manufacturers to ensure delivery aligns with project schedules and quality expectations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across project management processes, tools and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Work Health & Safety requirements and the company Quality Operating System.

 

About You

 

You hold tertiary qualifications in Engineering and/or Project Management and bring experience delivering complex product development projects within multidisciplinary engineering environments. You have a strong understanding of the systems development lifecycle and a proven ability to translate business requirements into structured, executable project plans.

Detail-oriented and commercially aware, you balance competing priorities while maintaining control of cost, schedule and risk. You are confident preparing executive-level reports and presenting project updates to senior stakeholders.

You are an effective team leader and communicator who builds credibility quickly and confidently influences both internal and external stakeholders while maintaining trusted, professional relationships. Results-oriented and accountable, you consistently drive outcomes and take ownership for successful delivery.

This role requires occasional domestic and international travel, along with flexibility to collaborate across global engineering teams outside standard working hours where required.
