About the role
The role of NPI Procurement Officer reports to the Procurement Manager – NPI and is responsible for delivering technical and commercial purchasing support to the internal purchasing and engineering teams to help facilitate prototype activities and provide a seamless transition into pre and mass production.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Work cross functionally across the greater Codan organisation to support New Product Introduction in sourcing, planning and purchasing materials from design stage until product launch.
- Perform full-cycle purchasing activities including sourcing, negotiating quotes, supplier qualification & onboarding, BOM comparisons, Compliance, cost roll, placing orders, monitoring deliveries, supplier performance and SRM.
- Lead and coordinate procurement activities to meet NPI, internal and external projects timelines and objectives, managing engineering changes, ECOs, support prototyping, sampling and ensuring specifications and quality standards are met.
- Source, evaluate, propose and set up new vendors/suppliers.
- Define the standard process for NPI Procurement team, stakeholder management and develop & report key performance indicators and measurement systems.
- Achieve cost savings through effective supplier negotiations, cost control measures, and strategic sourcing while maintaining quality standards and deliver NPIs on budget.
- Attend conferences and trade shows to understand new technologies and develop new vendor relations.
About You
We are looking for an experienced and proactive procurement professional to lead timely procurement and product support for engineering projects and new product introductions. In this role, you will own the NPI procurement process, delivering innovative sourcing solutions and ensuring the on-time availability of critical materials. With a strong focus on cost efficiency, you will drive supplier negotiations, strategic sourcing, and cost control measures while upholding the highest quality standards.
You will be responsible for leading the full procurement cycle, including sourcing, RFQs, supplier onboarding, compliance, and performance monitoring. Additionally, you will play a key role in defining procurement processes, setting KPIs, and optimizing inventory levels to balance cost, availability, and storage needs.
Tertiary qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or a related technical engineering field will be highly regarded.
