What will you be doing?
As an Electronic Engineering Technician within the Manufacturing Test Engineering team, you will provide key technical engineering services and enhance production test, quality and throughput.
This role will involve building test jigs and fixtures for electronics manufacturing, addressing technical challenges and implementing changes into production. You will also assist in the setup and maintenance of testing equipment, support new product introductions, and ensure optimal testing facilities for production.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with test engineering to construct test jigs and fixtures during new product introduction (NPI) to ensure that designs are suitable for manufacturing and test.
- Perform test equipment maintenance and calibration processes.
- Interface with design engineers to resolve product technical issues.
- Implement test and design change into production
- Provide general technical product support to manufacturing personnel to facilitate the operation, maintenance and quality of production testing systems.
- Debug and repair electronic test equipment and product.
- Monitor and resolve production test failures of both equipment and product.
- Install and commission appropriate facilities including test equipment, jigs and fixtures.
What makes a successful Electronics Engineering Technician?
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- Diploma in Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in electronics manufacturing.
- Proficient in soldering surface mount and through hole PCB assemblies
- Competency in electric and hand tool use. Machining tools, 3D Printing and CNC will be advantageous
- Knowledge of test instrument operation and process automation.
- Strong skills in circuit analysis, fault finding, and electronic assembly
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and relevant software applications.
- A practical mindset with a strong commitment to maintaining high work standards.
- Well-developed communication and problem-solving skills.
