This position has been evaluated as an annual base salary range of $80,000 - $105,000 USD. The target hiring range is $85,000 - $95,000 USD, ensuring room for continued growth in remuneration through annual performance and compensation reviews.
Offers will be determined based on the successful candidate’s assessed skills, experience and qualifications.
About the role
This newly created Accountant position is responsible for providing efficient, accurate, and timely finance support across our North American businesses within the Codan group. Working within the North America Shared Services team, this role contributes to month-end and year-end processes, expense management, and broader financial operations while developing strong technical accounting and commercial skills.
Reporting to the Finance Team Leader, the role partners closely with business unit finance teams, Australian headquarters, and key external stakeholders to ensure financial integrity, compliance, and high-quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Own balance sheet reconciliations across North American entities, ensuring timely completion and accuracy in collaboration with regional finance teams.
- Prepare and process accounting journals for businesses within the region.
- Support cash flow management and perform bank reconciliations for North American bank accounts as required.
- Maintain effective relationships with regional banking partners and support bank account management activities.
- Manage the North American corporate credit card platform.
- Support annual budget preparation and monthly forecasting processes.
- Monitor and manage the finance inbox, responding to queries from regional and global stakeholders.
- Coordinate statutory audits and reviews within the region, including preparing information for auditors and liaising with internal teams.
- Assist with finance projects and provide broader support to business units and the global finance team as required.
About You
Ideally you will hold a relevant qualification in Accounting or Finance and have experience supporting month-end and general accounting processes within a corporate environment. You demonstrate the ability to absorb information quickly, manage a high volume of tasks with accuracy, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
You build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, communicate with clarity and confidence, and take ownership of your responsibilities. A proactive approach, attention to detail, and a willingness to support the broader finance function are essential for success in this role.
