Title:  Technical Dealer and Marketing Coordinator

Date:  30 Jun 2026
Location:

Australia, Adelaide, AU

About us

Minelab is a technology company that creates world-leading metal detectors to help humanitarian organisations clear landmines, gold prospectors find life-changing gold nuggets, and historians to recover lost relics. We have a culture of innovation which makes us leaders in bringing new technology to customers across the globe.

About the Role

Turn your passion for the outdoors into a career at the heart of the detecting community.

This is not a desk-bound marketing role. We are looking for someone who would rather be out in the field than talking about it from behind a screen — someone who genuinely understands the excitement of chasing gold, uncovering a coin or relic, testing equipment in real conditions, and sharing that experience with others.

As our Technical Dealer and Marketing Coordinator, you will become a visible and trusted face of the brand across Australia and the broader ANZEA and APAC regions. You will spend time with dealers, customers, prospectors, detectorists and outdoor communities — demonstrating products, running training, supporting events, creating authentic field-based marketing content and helping people get more from their equipment.

We are ideally looking for someone based in Adelaide, close to our team and technical expertise. However, for an exceptional candidate with strong detecting or outdoor credentials, relevant marketing exposure and the ability to travel extensively, we are open to considering a remote arrangement elsewhere in Australia.

You will work closely with Dealers, Global Marketing, Engineering and our ANZEA & APAC Sales teams, bringing the voice of the customer back into the business while helping take our products, stories and experiences out into the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a hands-on brand ambassador within the gold prospecting, metal detecting and outdoor communities across Australia and the region.

  • Get into the field with customers and dealers to deliver practical product demonstrations, training sessions and real-world detecting experiences.

  • Represent the brand at detecting events, field days, dealer activations, trade shows, community gatherings and other outdoor industry events.

  • Build genuine relationships with prospectors, detectorists, dealers, retailers, content creators, influencers and enthusiast communities.

  • Help turn field experiences into compelling marketing — contributing ideas, customer stories, photos, video, social content and product education that feels authentic to the audience.

  • Support new product launches through dealer education, demonstrations, field testing, launch events and customer-facing activation.

  • Listen to the market and capture meaningful feedback, competitor activity, customer needs and field insights to inform Marketing, Sales, Engineering and future product development.

  • Partner with Sales teams to strengthen dealer capability, identify opportunities and help dealers create better customer experiences.

  • Build confidence and capability across the dealer network by helping people understand not just what our products do, but how to get the best results from them in the field.

  • Travel extensively throughout Australia and, when required, internationally to support customers, dealers, distributors, launches and events.

About You

Your outdoor credibility matters. We want someone who can walk into a conversation with a prospector, detectorist or outdoor enthusiast and connect because you understand the lifestyle — not because you have memorised a product brochure.

You may already be an experienced gold prospector or detectorist. Alternatively, your background could be in outdoor recreation, adventure tourism, camping, 4WDing, fishing, hunting, outdoor retail or another field-based pursuit where equipment, conditions and community matter. What is important is that being outdoors is genuinely part of who you are and that you are excited by the prospect of spending significant time in the field.

You will also bring some exposure to marketing and customer engagement. That could come from creating social or video content, supporting events, building an online community, working with influencers, running retail activations, promoting an outdoor brand, supporting dealer networks, or simply knowing how to turn a great real-world experience into a story people want to engage with. We are not looking for a career marketer who happens to like the outdoors; we are looking for an outdoor person who understands how good marketing can build a community and a brand.

You are confident communicating with different audiences and comfortable presenting, demonstrating equipment, training others and representing a recognised brand. You have enough technical curiosity to understand how products work, enough practical ability to use them credibly in the field, and the communication skills to explain complex features in a way that makes sense to customers.

You will need to be highly self-motivated, comfortable working independently and willing to travel regularly. If you are based remotely, you will be someone who can stay connected to the wider team while taking ownership of activity in the field.

If your ideal working week could include a dealer visit, a day detecting in the field, filming a product demonstration, talking with customers around a campfire and feeding those insights back to the team developing the next generation of equipment, this could be the role for you.

Benefits and Culture

Our culture is supportive and collaborative. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team where we share our ideas and innovation is strongly encouraged. We are looking for someone with genuine passion and can-do attitude for what they do.

Our Head office is located in Mawson Lakes offering a spacious, modern facility, free secure onsite parking, easy access via public transport, and an onsite subsidised café. We also have recreational facilities including a gym, basketball, and tennis court, as well as various game tables. Additionally, our staff are provided flexibility to meet the demands of family life, a child-friendly parenting room, and a variety of staff events to connect with colleagues across the Codan Group.

We welcome applications from veterans, reservists, and individuals with Defence industry or military experience
