Our passion for innovation keeps us one step ahead in the rapidly changing and increasingly challenging environments within which we perform, whether on critical missions, in the streets of our cities, or at the world's largest sporting events.
With more than 60 years of experience and a global presence in over 150 countries, our teams and products are recognised for delivering innovative, reliable, and industry-leading technology solutions that consistently meet the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
What will you be doing?
As an RF Design Engineer, you'll join our Hardware Engineering team designing advanced communications products that are used in some of the world's most demanding environments.
This is a hands-on product development role where you'll work across the full engineering lifecycle, from concept design through to prototype development, verification, production and ongoing product support. You'll have genuine ownership of your designs, working closely with Electronics, Embedded Software, Mechanical and Systems Engineers to develop innovative RF solutions that become real-world products.
You'll be involved in designing and developing RF hardware, contributing to receiver and transmitter architectures, and helping solve challenging engineering problems across a range of communications technologies. Whether you're already experienced within RF communications or looking to build on a solid electronics background, you'll have the opportunity to learn from an experienced engineering team while continuing to develop your technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Designing and developing RF and analogue hardware for advanced communications products
- Contributing to the design of receiver and transmitter architectures, RF signal chains and front-end circuitry
- Supporting product development from initial concept through to production and lifecycle support
- Testing, debugging and verifying RF hardware using laboratory equipment including spectrum analysers, vector network analysers, signal generators and oscilloscopes
- Supporting PCB design, layout reviews and hardware integration activities
- Participating in design reviews, technical investigations and root cause analysis
- Working collaboratively with Electronics, Embedded Software, Mechanical and Systems Engineering teams to deliver integrated product solutions
- Producing clear engineering documentation, including design records, test reports and manufacturing documentation
- Supporting continuous improvement activities and investigating new technologies for future product development
About You
You're degree-qualified in Electronic Engineering, Communications Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or a related discipline, with practical experience designing RF hardware for real products.
You have a strong understanding of RF fundamentals, analogue circuit design and radio architectures, and you're comfortable using RF laboratory equipment to develop, test and troubleshoot hardware. Experience contributing to hardware product development from concept through to manufacture is highly desirable.
Experience with RF front-end design, frequency synthesis, receiver or transmitter design, RF PCB layout or Software Defined Radio would be advantageous. Familiarity with RF simulation tools such as ADS, AWR, Genesys or SPICE would also be beneficial, although not essential.
We're particularly interested in engineers with practical RF hardware design experience.
You'll be a proactive problem solver who enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, takes ownership of your work and is motivated to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
Benefits and Culture
Our culture is supportive and collaborative. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team where we share our ideas and innovation is strongly encouraged. We are looking for someone with genuine passion and can-do attitude for what they do.
