What will you be doing?
As an Electronic Design Engineer, you'll become part of a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for designing the next generation of tactical communications products.
This is a genuine product development role where you'll be involved throughout the entire engineering lifecycle from initial concept and schematic capture through PCB design, prototype development, verification, manufacture and ongoing product support. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of your designs and see them become real-world products used in demanding environments across the globe.
Working closely with Mechanical, RF, Embedded Software and Systems Engineers, you'll contribute to the development of advanced communications equipment, solving complex engineering challenges and helping shape future products.
Whether you already have experience within communications technology or are looking to develop your knowledge in this area, we'll provide the support and mentoring needed to help you grow your technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Designing analogue and digital electronic circuits for advanced communications products
- Developing electronic hardware from concept through to production and lifecycle support
- Designing and reviewing PCB schematics and layouts using industry-standard CAD tools
- Bringing new designs to life through prototype build, debugging, integration and verification
- Performing hardware testing using oscilloscopes, power supplies and other electronic laboratory equipment
- Supporting design reviews, technical investigations and root cause analysis
- Working collaboratively with RF, Embedded Software, Mechanical and Systems Engineering teams to deliver integrated hardware solutions
- Producing clear engineering documentation, including design records, test procedures and manufacturing documentation
- Supporting continuous improvement activities and investigating new technologies that could enhance future products
About You
You're a degree-qualified Engineer with a solid understanding of analogue and digital circuit design and enjoy solving practical engineering problems. You're comfortable interpreting schematics, debugging hardware and taking designs from an initial concept through to successful testing.
Experience designing PCBs is important, while exposure to embedded processors, power supplies, product development or communications systems would be highly regarded. Experience with Altium Designer would be advantageous, although training can be provided.
Just as importantly, you're someone who enjoys working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary engineering team. You're curious, proactive and keen to continue developing your technical skills while taking ownership of your work.
